 Jay Bonner has lived in northern Palm Beach County since 1963, having attended Palm Beach Gardens Elementary, Howell Watkins Middle, Palm Beach Gardens High, and Palm Beach Community College.

 Mr. Bonner started his land surveying career back in 1976 and launched his own land surveying business, Sunshine Surveyors in April 1987.  Jay and his wife Debbie are Sunshine Surveyors and their continued success allows Jay to serve the community through the Church of the Nazarene and Dominion Ministries.

 July 2002 Jay Bonner established the Character Council of Palm Beach County and worked with the School District promoting the Six Pillars of Character.

 As the Chair of the Circuit 15 Juvenile Justice Board from July 2005 through June of 2009, Jay Bonner demonstrated his ability to focus government and community leaders on the needs of our youth in the juvenile justice system. 

 Mr. Bonner and the Circuit 15 Juvenile Justice Board worked with Palm Beach County Legislators, Palm Beach County Commissioners, and the Alternative Education Department for the School District of Palm Beach County to secure state funding for additional classroom space at the Palm Beach Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

 Mr. Bonner launched the Circuit 15 Faith & Community Network in December of 2006 to serve youth and families by providing partnerships and to connect resources by networking.  This work in the juvenile justice system continues today.

 January 2008, Jay Bonner received The Edith Bush Community Service Award from The Martin Luther King, Jr. Coordinating Committee in appreciation for outstanding community service.

 August 2009, Jay Bonner joined his brother Gary Bonner as a mobile marketing consultant with imediaReach.

 November 2009, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice through the Circuit 15 Faith & Community Network launched the Chaplaincy program in Palm Beach County.

 October 2012, Dominion Ministries worked with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to hold a Faith Community Crime Prevention Summit hosting Rev. Jeffrey Brown.

 March 2013, Jay Bonner began testing the waters for a potential run for Florida’s 18th Congressional District and has decided he would best serve his community through Florida’s 20th Congressional District.

 June 2013 Jay Bonner together with the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit and other volunteers launched Operation Embrace to alert the faith community of juvenile justice issues and to create lasting partnerships that enhance the lives of youth and families.

November 2014 Jay Bonner was on the ballot as the Republican Candidate for United States House of Representatives in Florida Congressional District 20.
